in Childhood Cancer
Childhood cancer remains a very important health problem, despite its high survival rates compared to adults (1). However, it is still the leading cause of death in children (2). Childhood cancer includes the following forms: leukaemia, lymphoma, central nervous system tumours, bone and soft tissue sarcomas, neuroblastoma, retinoblastoma, rod tumours, liver, kidney and germ cell tumours and rare cancers. It is also less common, with a ratio of 144 – 148 cases per million children (3).
